Vaggelis & Alekos Personal pick · Neos Kosmos

A family run oinomageireio tucked into a shaded arcade off Frantzi, serving slow cooked home food (mageirefta that changes daily, plus fish and seafood depending on the catch) that most visitors never find. There is a courtyard, prices are honest, and it feels closer to Sunday lunch at someone's house than a restaurant.

Greek and Mediterranean cooking done with more care than the unassuming setting suggests, leaning on fish and seafood. It sits just outside the downtown tourist belt but an easy walk from it, so it stays pleasant on evenings when the centre is heaving.
