About Heart Athens
An independent guide to Athens as a living city: its neighbourhoods, its food, its music and the ancient city that runs through the modern one.
Who we are
Heart Athens is run by Deniz, whose personal recommendations are marked as Deniz’s picks across the site and gathered on Heart Picks. It sits alongside two sister guides, Heart Corfu and Heart Greece.
How we choose what to list
- Places are listed because a named, reputable guide recommends them (for example the Michelin Guide, the World’s 50 Best Bars, Athinorama, Time Out or This is Athens, the city’s official guide), or because Deniz knows them himself. The guides are shown on every card as Listed by.
- Every fact carries its source and the date we read it. Where we only saw a search engine copy of a page, we say so.
- We do not copy ratings, reviews or opening hours from Google or Tripadvisor. We link to them instead.
- Nobody can pay to be listed, to be called a pick, or to change a review.
Affiliate and advertising disclosure
Some buttons point to booking sites such as GetYourGuide, Booking.com and ferry booking sites. When we join a partner programme, those buttons may become affiliate links: if you book through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That never decides what we list or recommend. Any paid placement will be labelled as sponsored where it appears. Advertising and partnership enquiries go to partners@heartathens.com.
Corrections
Places close, prices change and we make mistakes. Email hello@heartathens.com and we will check and fix it.

Readers can review any place and start a topic in our forums. Everything is moderated first, under these rules. How reviews work.
Privacy
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not track you across sites.
