A
Attica Zoological Park
Greece’s largest zoo, out at Spata near the airport, and an easy half day with children.
B
Billiards
Pool and billiard halls are a low key Athens night out, and many stay open late and serve drinks. Long running spots include Lucky Man in Ampelokipi, going since 1970 with American tables near the centre, Mister 100 in Koukaki, and Sporting Club in Neos Kosmos. Most have carom, pool or snooker tables alongside table tennis.
Bowling
Athens has several bowling alleys, handy on a rainy day or with children. Blanos Bowling in Glyfada is one of the oldest in the city, with twelve lanes plus billiards and roller skating, while Super Bowl in Agios Ioannis Rentis is the largest, with around twenty five lanes and pool tables. Both sit outside the centre and are easiest to reach by car or taxi.

P
Planetarium (Eugenides Foundation)
A large digital planetarium on Syngrou Avenue, with shows in Greek and English.
Pub quiz
Several Athens bars run a weekly quiz night in English, popular with expats and visitors and often busy enough to book ahead. The Wee Dram, a small Scottish pub near Panormou metro, holds a regular trivia quiz alongside live sport, and a long running English language pub quiz runs on Wednesday evenings around Mets and Pangrati. Teams are welcome and newcomers can usually join one on the night.
